Chapter 42: Twinkling Starlight
Hannah happily polished off her meal. Despite her food's lack of texture verity, the taste was excellent, far exceeding anything she had experienced back home. The Amazon world, thus far, was nothing if not consistent. Miss Kaylee leaned over with her napkin and cleaned Hannah’s face, causing her to blush. “Enjoy your meal, sweetheart?” she asked.
Hannah nodded, “It was excellent.”
Despite having had a three-course meal, the food hadn’t been heavy or dense, meaning that Hannah felt full, but not so much so that she wanted to do nothing but lay down and sleep. Perhaps that was the point; the pinnacle of the meal was supposed to be a dance under the chandeliers; the live music filtered its way across the diners to them, the gentle buzz of chatter thrumming through Hannah. This close to the ship's engines, Hannah could feel their monotone hum reverberating through the floors, easily droned out by the dining patrons.
Their waiter had been on top of things as they ate, clearing away plates and ensuring their every need was met. The waiter bid them farewell as the group began to leave their table. “I believe it is time for some dancing!” Miss Kaylee said as she pulled Thomas from his seat, her hand immediately feeling his bum, “It seems like someone’s dinner went right through him; you are such a good boy.” she teased, tickling his sides.
Thomas squealed in delight, squirming and laying his head against Miss Kaylee’s chest as she lovingly patted his bum. Daddy helped Emily and Hannah down from their seats, guiding their gowns so as not to be caught up on anything and trip them. Hannah’s heart began to race as they made their way towards the dance floor. Hannah had been in front of audiences before, but this was outside her wheelhouse. Hannah had never danced in a ball gown, didn’t know any formal ball dances, and had never danced as a baby in a thick diaper before.
The group stepped up to the dance floor, Thomas still in Miss Kaylee's arms, nursing his thumb, Daddy holding her unoccupied hand as they waited their turn. It seemed that Emily and Hannah would be dancing together. Hannah glanced across the dance floor, watching for what other Littles were doing. Even from here, Hannah could tell nearly everyone of them was thickly diapered, and their dancing paled in comparison to their parents. It quickly became apparent to Hannah that no matter how poorly she danced, it was more about the act of dancing rather than the dance itself. Hannah was supposed to be cute, trying to mimic the actions of her Mommy rather than be able to dance well.
The revelation allowed Hannah to relax, but still, she studied the Amazon women and how they performed, setting expectations for herself. While none of these people expected an Oscar-level performance from Hannah, she didn’t let that deter her from trying. The song ended, the women curtsying to their partners as the men bowed at the waist, the watching crowd offering polite claps as people made their way from the dance floor and others entered.
Hannah felt Emily taking her hand, gently pulling her onto the dance floor, her heart fluttering in anticipation. Hannah felt anxious and nervous as they took up their position. Emily faced her, her hand gently holding Hannah’s waist and her other hand clasping Hannah’s. Hannah’s free hand rested gently on Emily’s shoulder, as she had seen the other woman do, and before she could think any further, the next song began. They started to move, gently swaying and stepping in time with the music. Miss Kaylee had been right; it was relatively easy once you understood the steps; there wasn’t much to it, especially without high heels.
As Emily and Hannah entered a rhythm, Hannah relaxed, smiling at Emily as the two danced. Emily returned her smile, and for a moment, they were lost in each other's eyes. Hannah forgot that she was on an alien planet, surrounded by monsters who wanted to do evil to her. Hannah let herself get lost in the moment, dancing with, what, her friend? Her sister? Anything deeper or more intimate made Hannah blush madly; she had never considered herself anything other than heterosexual her whole life, and yet there was something about Emily that made her as giddy as a school girl.
Emily seemed to understand Hannah in a way no boy had ever managed. Emily came here with the same ambitions and desires; she appeared to share similar interests and knew she wanted what was best for her. Emily was kind and loving, looking out for Hannah, not because of a parental stipulation to being a good parent figure, but because she wanted to see Hannah flourish and be happy. For all his good deeds, Daddy never saw Hannah or Emily as equals; he saw the girls as people he needed to care for and protect.
Emily, however, saw Hannah as an equal; they were both in a situation no one from Earth would ever experience or even understand. Not one Amazon truly understood Hannah or Emily’s position; they simply saw the two as babies who had come to terms with who they were. The girls were seen as children pretending to be grown up back home.
Emily was no such fool. Emily smiled warmly, their eyes meeting, and Hannah got lost in that smile, biting the inside of her lip to keep from grinning like an utter fool. Hannah felt Emily’s hand shifting on her waist, pulling her in just a touch closer; everywhere their bodies met sent tingles through Hannah’s body, a flush traveling her body that had nothing to do with embarrassment.
Hannah didn’t want the moment to end; it was just her and Emily and the rest of the world fading away. It wasn’t until she heard clapping that she realized the song had ended. Daddy had been dancing with Miss Kaylee, and Thomas held between the two as they danced. They bowed and curtsied to one another before departing the dance floor. Hannah and Emily followed suit, giggling before joining them.
Hannah’s heart was still racing, Emily’s hand holding hers as they made their way from the main dining room.
“That was a lot of fun!” Miss Kaylee said, “You were excellent dancers! I thought neither of you knew how to?” she asked, glancing at the girls who trailed behind.
“We picked it up watching the other women,” Hannah replied, clearing her throat, her blush fading.
“It’s a good idea.” Miss Kaylee smiled, “It’s important you learn from the adults around you, and you picked it up quickly! I’m proud of both of you. I believe it’s time for the parade!” she added with a smile.
“That sounds lovely; I believe it was up on deck twelve,” Daddy said as they entered a glass elevator, which whisked them up.
The entire ship deck was shimmering with twinkling fairy lights as they strolled out of the elevator. Strands of lights were draped between the towering masts, glowing softly against the night sky, with the gentle ocean breeze carrying a festive air. The ship had been transformed into a royal spectacle for the evening. The railings were adorned with luxurious, flowing banners in royal colors of gold, silver, and deep purples, giving the sundeck an opulent yet playful feel fit for the royal theme.
Golden stanchions connected by velvet ropes marked the parade route, guiding guests along the open-air path. Along the deck, large, ornate arches were set up to look like castle gates, each arch twinkling with even more lights as they led the way. Guests gathered around, some dressed as kings, queens, princes, and princesses, their gowns and suits sparkling in the soft light. Like Hannah and Emily, Littles wore crowns and tiaras, and their dresses and outfits made them look like royal court members.
The music playing was grand, a mix of regal fanfare and enchanting tunes that made passengers feel part of a royal procession. Live performers dressed as court jesters, knights, and royal attendants walked around, keeping the energy lively. Juggles tossed brightly colored balls into the air, and stilt walkers with flowing capes glided among the crowd, adding to the fairytale atmosphere.
As the parade began, a royal carriage decorated with twinkling lights and pushed by two entertainers dressed as royal guards led the way. Following the carriage were floats decked out in baby-themed royalty, giant pacifiers, stuffed bears with crowns, and oversized blocks in playful colors. Each float was lit up, with bubbles drifting through the air, adding a layer of whimsy to the scene.
The parade culminated at the center of the sundeck, where a throne had been set up, surrounded by a fountain that sparkled with golden lights. Guests gathered around as the “Royal Family of the Night” was chosen from the crowd. Marty’s voice could be heard over the loudspeakers, inviting everyone to cheer and celebrate as fireworks lit up the sky, casting colorful reflections over the dark sea below.
As the Royal Parade peaked, Marty took the stage at the center of the sundeck, near the grand throne. His voice boomed across the sound system, “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the crowning of our Royal Family for the night! Tonight, we’ve got some special Little royals among us; let’s see how we will wear the crown!”
The crowd hushed and watched anxiously as Marty scanned the smiling faces. He paused for dramatic effect, then his gaze settled on Hannah, her hand tightening around Emily’s.
“You there! Yes, you, the little princess in the beautiful gown!” Marty announced with a smile, pointing directly at Hannah.
The lights on the deck dimmed slightly, leaving a spotlight on Hannah. Hannah’s heart skipped a beat as she realized he had singled out her. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, and Daddy gave her an encouraging smile, squeezing her shoulder as she was ushered towards the throne. Emily and Thomas clapped excitedly for her as Hannah stepped onto the red carpet leading to the stage, feeling like she was in a dream. The cruise attendants, dressed in royal guard outfits, greeted her with bows and curtsies as she was ushered toward the sparkling throne.
Marty bent down to Hannah’s level, a sparkling crown in his hand, somehow already knowing Hannah’s name. “Princess Hannah, you’ve been chosen as one of our royal family members for the night! Will you accept your crown and take your place among the royals?”
Hannah could barely breathe, let alone speak, the crowd hushing in anticipation. She nodded shyly, her cheeks flushed. Marty smiled warmly, placing the glittering tiara atop her head, far more formal than the one she had been wearing. He adjusted it carefully until it perched perfectly atop Hannah’s soft hair. The crown cheered again, and camera flashes went off as photographers documented the occasion.
“Princess Hannah, you are officially crowned!” Marty announced.
Marty stepped back as Hannah was lifted onto the grand throne, her feet dangling. The throne was adorned with velvet cushions and golden embroidery, making it fit for royalty. As she sat on the throne, attendants came forward with a royal sash and a golden scepter, placing them in her hands and across her chest. They had been scaled appropriately for a Little, and Hannah knew the parade would always culminate in a Little being selected. Marty stepped to the side and bowed to Hannah, the crowd following suit, making Hannah feel genuinely like a princess.
The rest of the Royal Family was chosen from the crowd, another Little as a prince, a king, and a queen from the Amazon passengers. Hannah was given a special spot as the princess at the stage's center. The attendants pulled a velvet rope, a cascade of sparkling confetti falling from the sky, shimmering in the soft lights of the sundeck.
To close the ceremony, Marty announced,” And now, Princess Hannah will lead us in a royal procession! Let’s give her a royal round of applause!”
Hannah was helped down from the throne, with her scepter in hand, as she was guided to walk at the head of the parade, the crowd following behind. The band struck a regal tune as Hannah and the other Royal Family members made their way around the sundeck, with fireworks lighting up the sky again. They passed hundreds, if not thousands, of other passengers who hadn’t seen the coronation ceremony, who smiled, clapped, and took photos of the royal precision.
Arriving back at the center of the sundeck, the throne and stage had been removed, clearing space for a dance floor as passengers milled about, some dancing, others laughing and chatting, the precision devolving. Hannah was permitted to keep her royal wares and was quickly joined by the rest of her group.
“My princess!” Miss Kaylee said, stepping up and curtsying.
Daddy grinned, offering Hannah a half bow as Emily stepped up, taking Hannah’s hand and whispering, “You okay?” she asked.
Hannah nodded, “I’m fine.” she glanced at her wand and then at Emily with a grin, “Peasant.”
Emily returned her grin, curtsying, “My princess.” she giggled, “Your wish is my command.”
Hannah smiled, realizing that what she wanted from Emily, she couldn’t order here in the crowds of people surrounding her. Crew members came by with massive serving trays, offering drinks to everyone, and Hannah found a bottle in her hands once more.
Hannah took a sip, pulling the bottle from her mouth in surprise as she felt the burn of alcohol scorch her tongue. She looked at the bottle, startled, and then at Miss Kaylee and Daddy, who hadn’t realize what she had. Emily had made the same discovery and grinned at Hannah, winking. The alcohol would be their little secret as they happily nursed their bottles. Hannah needed to go and began soaking her diaper, feeling it squish between her legs.
The group dissolved into smaller parties as they milled about the sun deck, interacting with other guests or, in Hannah and Emily’s case, half drinking, half dancing as the night wore on. Hannah wasn’t sure how long they were on that deck, the moon hanging high in the sky when she stepped to the ship's side for a breather.
Emily joined her, a grin plastered across her face as they gazed at the dark ocean. The ship’s lights sparkled and reflected off the blue waters, waves gently lapping below as they sailed through the night.
“Does it feel like we’ve been in this world for a long time to you?” Emily asked as they gazed out onto the sea.
“You’ve been here far longer than I have, but it feels like I’ve been here for a few weeks, not just a few days,” Hannah replied.
“It feels like months, and it’s only been a few weeks.” Emily replied, “I can honestly say, however, that these last few days with you have been some of the happiest of my life. Regardless of everything we’ve been through, regardless of what they’ve done or even the storm we’ve found ourselves in, I’ve enjoyed our time together.”
Emily’s hand found Hannah’s, giving her a firm squeeze, “I genuinely don’t know if I would have been able to make it without you.” Hannah admitted, “I would have given up long ago.”
“Oh, come on, no, you wouldn’t have!” Emily replied, “You’re far too strong for that; you would have made it through just fine; heck, you wouldn’t be on this boat right now if it had been just you. You would have found a way to make it work and stay out of trouble.”
Hannah snorted, “Yeah, right. I’m only as well-behaved because I’m learning from your mistakes!”
“Ouch, but fair.” Emily giggled, “My bum was constantly red for the first week; I’ve never been spanked that much.”
“Did you ever enjoy it? I’ve always loved the idea of being spanked.” Hannah admitted, blushing slightly.
“Being pulled over a caregiver's lap, your diaper pulled down as they held you and spanked you?” Emily asked, grinning as Hannah nodded, blushing further, “Of course. That is, until the pain gets bad enough, you start crying, and they don’t stop.”
Hannah sighed, “I figured as much. I’m not much of a masochist, but I had to ask.”
“I thought I was; oh how they proved me wrong.” Emily chuckled, “I’m finding a lot of my fantasies are best left as that, fantasies.”
The girls gazed out on the waters as the ship glided across, piercing waves effortlessly, sending sea water spray into the air, far below their railing. Moon and starlight glittered off the waters of the impossibly dark ocean, turning the seascape into looking like a vast starfield. Emily’s hand squeezed Hannah’s, and Hannah found her head gently resting against Emily’s shoulder.
“I think I love you,” Emily said, not looking at Hannah.
Hannah’s heart fluttered, a rush of excitement flooding her body as she turned to face Emily, their bodies inches away. She smiled, “I think I love you, too.” Hannah replied, their lips meeting once again, under the stars' twinkling lights.
